24 Nov '09 - IP renumbering in progress - this influences connected users, we are moving from the 172.20 range to 172.24 and 172.25 ranges with better OSPF areas and routing. 01 Sep '09 - We installed a 802.11n link a while ago between Lyttleton and Irene highsites, 2.5km, 2 grids each side. It has ro run on RouterOS 4 beta. The link is averaging at 50mbits, 25 up and 25 down.
25 Aug '09 - PTAWUG now has 520 connected users to the network, stretching from Hammanskraal to Midrand.
28 July '09 - Today is PTAWUG's second birthday. From 4 users on two highsites 2 years ago, to 480 users on 51 highsites. Thanks to everyone that worked hard and contributed to the growth and operation.
03 July '09 - PTAWUG Highsites that have gone live in last month: Heuweloord, Orchards, Akasia, Midstream and Noordwyk. We are now 450 users connected across Pretoria.
21 June '09 - PTAWUG thanks mybroadband.co.zafor their generous donation of R3719 towards the new Heuweloord highsite and the upgrade of Wierda Mall Highsite. There are 433 users connected to PTAWUG at this time.

No speed limits!
There are no speed limits, this means you can transfer as fast as your hardware and signalstrength allows you to. However, speeds are not guaranteed! Anything from 1KB/s to 1MB/s are possible, depending on the highsite and a multitude of other factors.

Transfer as much data as your hardware and speed allows.

Non-profit community network
There are no monthly or membership fees, as the network is entirely built by the community for the community.
